Bleeding Control Kit Application
To help manage demand and distribute kits, the Georgia Trauma Commission accepts applications for Bleeding Control Kits during scheduled application periods.
Eligible organizations can apply for kits during an open application period. After the application period closes, the RTAC Coordinator will review all region-specific applications.
Kits are distributed based on:
- Organization priority
- STOP THE BLEED® training status
- Available kit supplies
- Regional needs
New application periods will open as long as supplies and funding are available.

Eligible Organizations
In order of priority:
- Public K-12 Schools
- Public K-12 School Buses
- Other Public Education Institutions
- Law Enforcement
- Government Agencies
Organization Requirements
- All participating organizations must have staff trained in STOP THE BLEED®. Regional Trauma Advisory Committee (RTAC) Coordinators provide this training at no cost to interested organizations.
- Georgia public school systems and districts are encouraged to train as many school bus drivers, substitute drivers, and bus monitors as possible. Once training is complete, each school system or district will receive Georgia Trauma Commission Bleeding Control Kits based on the number of school buses in its fleet.
- Organizations must have at least 10 staff members trained in STOP THE BLEED® before bleeding control kits can be distributed.
- All participating organizations must sign a Participation Agreement before receiving training or bleeding control kits.

Kit Review and Distribution Period
After each application period closes, RTAC Coordinators will review all applications and notify organizations about kit pickup and distribution. Kits are distributed while supplies last.
