GQIP Associate Trauma Medical Director Contractor Position- Application Period OPEN

The Georgia Trauma Commission & Georgia Quality Improvement Program (GQIP) have an exceptional opportunity for an active board-certified trauma surgeon interested in quality and performance improvement. We are currently looking to fill the position of GQIP Associate Trauma Medical Director. This position will work collaboratively with the GQIP Trauma Medical Director and GQIP Director to identify statewide trauma performance improvement opportunities and work collaboratively with trauma center stakeholders to achieve performance improvement goals. With the launch of ArborMetrix and the continued growth of the Georgia Trauma System, this role will ensure the sustainability of our efforts to drive advancements in trauma care and improve patient outcomes.

Role Overview:

The GQIP Associate Trauma Medical Director assists the GQIP Trauma Medical Director in providing programmatic oversight as well as leadership to the trauma quality collaborative. The GQIP Associate Medical Director must be a board-certified surgeon interested in trauma and actively take trauma call at a designated trauma center. The GQIP Associate Medical Director, in conjunction with the GQIP Trauma Medical Director and GQIP director, should work closely with the Trauma Medical Directors and Trauma Program Managers within the state to identify performance improvement opportunities and achieve performance improvement goals. They should facilitate the development and dissemination of state-wide trauma guidelines and best practice protocols. The associate director must be currently certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), maintain personal involvement in the care of the injured, maintain education in trauma care, and maintain involvement in professional organizations.
