Liz has more than 30 years of progressive leadership experience in pediatric and adult trauma, cardiac care, critical care, and flight nursing. She earned her master’s degree in nursing and healthcare leadership from Duke University, where her graduate work resulted in an innovative approach to statewide trauma center performance evaluation that continues to support quality improvement efforts across Georgia. In 2017, she was selected as a Finance Fellow by the Trauma Center Association of America (TCAA), authoring the trauma center programmatic staffing chapter for the TCAA Finance Manual.

Recognized nationally for her leadership in trauma systems, Liz currently serves as Immediate Past President of the Society of Trauma Nurses (STN) and Vice President of the Joint Trauma Coalition, the governing organization established by the Society of Trauma Nurses, the Trauma Center Association of America, and the American Trauma Society to oversee the nation's premier multidisciplinary trauma conference. She is also Past Chair of the TCAA Trauma Systems Committee and serves as an accreditation site reviewer for the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation.

Liz has presented nationally on trauma system development, performance improvement, quality collaboratives, trauma center leadership, healthcare finance, and trauma registry data. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications on clinical trauma care, trauma systems, healthcare finance, and injury prevention.
